Midwifery Care….Did you know?

After having the extreme privilege of having  midwives attend the birth of my last baby I have wanted everyone to know how AWESOME midwifery care is!

A lot of my family and friends had NO idea what a midwife was. What do they do? How much do they cost?

Did you know that midwives are covered by OHIP and you do not have to pay a thing!

Did you know that you will have a short wait and a nice LONG appointment with your midwife. You will not feel rushed and your questions are welcomed and answered 🙂  Midwives build relationships with their clients. Visits last 30-45 mins.

Did you know that you do not need a referral to receive midwifery care. Simply call the office as soon as you find out that you are expecting 🙂

Did you know midwives are specialized primary care providers for low risk pregnancies.

Did you know midwives can arrange all routine prenatal testing including ultrasound and genetic screening, as well as standard laboratory and diagnostic tests. Midwives discuss the results with clients and provide information and follow-up.

Did you know midwives are available 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week for urgent concerns.

Did you know options for pain management, including epidural, are available to midwifery clients.

Did you know that with a midwife you have a choice of birthplace. You can deliver your baby at the hospital or at home.

Did you know that your midwife will do the first few postpartum visits and baby well check ups in your home! Yes they come to your home 2-3 times in the first week-two after having your baby. Now that is personalized care 🙂

Did you know your care with your midwife lasts 6 weeks postpartum!

Did you know midwives are AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are so blessed to have these wonderful ladies in our community! I really cannot say enough about how wonderful their care is!

If you are interested in learning more about midwifery care or would like to have a midwife for your pregnancy check out their website, of visit them on facebook.  You will be SO glad you did 🙂
